Everything You Need to Know about the Common Core Standards for Math (but were afraid to ask)

I have been doing quite a bit of research on the Common Core Standards for mathematics in preparation for a national workshop session I will be presenting this month. Has your state adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS)?

Here are a few of the best links I have found on the CCSS for K-12 math:

-The actual CCSS Standards for Math

-A good article from The Washington Post on the CCSS and their implications for instruction

-How the CCSS stacks up against state standards

-The NCTM’s and CCSS’ joint statement

  1. I’m an educator of 29 years. I recently took a jump into the Apple App jungle and wrote two programs for the Common Core: EZ Math Core & EZ Language Core. They gotten a pretty good response so far and are an easy quick reference to the Common Core. You can find them at the App store or: ezeducationtools.com

A resource that my grade level has found very useful as we begin to integrate the Common Core Standards into our math planning sessions is:
    http://www.k-5mathteachingresources.com
They provide math activities for each Standard (K-5) and best of all it’s free!

I have co-written documents unpacking the Common Core K-5 math content for teachers. Those and other resources are here- http://elemath.pbworks.com/w/page/30621644/common-core
